This course will develop your knowledge, skills and expertise for working with pupils, other adults and teachers. The Foundation Degree links the vocational aspects of a teaching assistant role with the rigor of an undergraduate course at level 4 and level 5 respectively. Teaching assistants will already have knowledge of their own work and their own working environments. It is the intention of this programme to enhance and deepen that knowledge, skill and understanding and prepare you for the rigor of the top up degree. On successful completion of the course you should be able to: | Demonstrate an understanding of monitoring and assessing the needs of children | Understand assessment and evaluation processes when teaching individuals, groups or classes | Apply knowledge and understanding to areas such as special needs education | Critically examine current issues in educational practice Reflect upon practice and developing professional values and pedagogyExample Modules

How Will I Be Assessed?
Assessment is through a variety of methods including assignments, reports, portfolios of work and presentations.Entry Requirements

On successful completion of the course you can top- up to a full honours degree with the University of Bedfordshire.Career Opportunities
Consideration can be given to careers in Higher level Teaching Assistant, Primary School Teacher and Secondary Teaching.
