This course covers the introductory aspects of the study of language, using a variety of texts for the basis of this study. There is a clear focus on three specific social contexts: Language and Power, Language and Gender and Language and Technology.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will carry out coursework throughout the course and sit a final examination.

Entry Requirements

You will require 5 GCSE results at Grade C or above, which must include English Language, are required.

Additional Information

There will be two classes each week, lasting two hours each, plus additional study as directed by the course leader (up to four hours each week).

Progression

This course carries UCAS points which allow for progression to university.
