COOKERY - BACK TO BASICS
This product does not have fixed starting dates and/or places.
The course will cover basic food preparation and build up skills
within the kitchen, using a variety of techniques and equipment. It
will also cover sourcing ingredients locally where possible and
being cost effective.
The content and outcomes of the course will be discussed with you
and may be adapted to meet your needs and those of the group. By
the end of the course you should be able to:

Use equipment and knives safely.
Shop and be aware of the cost of ingredients.

What is your approach?
The students will have a demonstration of the dishes they will
prepare before
They are expected to cook themselves. This will allow more one to
one teaching in the classroom.

What will I need?
You will have an opportunity to maintain an Individual Learning
Plan and your tutor will discuss your progress and achievement with
you throughout the course.
What will I need for the first session?
The first session will require ingredients for making bread, eggs
for glazing and to boil to make a basic filling for a sandwich. A
suitable container in which to take your food home in.
Are there any other costs?
The cost of ingredients each week, to be informed by the tutor
during the previous session.
