- Want to develop skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable progression.
Typical Units of Study
- Business purposes – Students will gain a clear understanding of the main features and characteristics of the local business environment including the purpose and different forms of ownership.
- Business organisations – Students will have an understanding of the aims and objectives that business organisations have
- Financial forecasting for business – students will know how to classify costs, revenue and profit and use this to predict the financial future of a business
- People in organisations – A unit which teaches how skills for employability are broadly formalised and documented in the recruitment process and how they fit in into job roles and organisational structures
- Verbal and non verbal communications in a business context – A unit which increases the awareness of the importance of verbal and non verbal communication skills
- Business communication through documentation – by completing this unit students will develop an understanding of the reasons for communication in a business, be able to produce documents and consider the various audiences the business needs to communicate with.
There are no exams. Your tutor will assess your work for all Units and this will be moderated by OCR.
Six Units make up the qualification.
Progression routes
You can start work in roles such as office, sales or administration assistance and undertake NVQ or other occupational qualifications
