About the course
A P3O model provides a decision enabling and delivering support structure for any change within an organization, be it large or small. This course is designed to enable delegates to understand the structure, roles, tools and techniques along with the processes that help to ensure change in the enterprise in line with the strategic objectives of the company. During the course, delegates will gain knowledge of the internationally recognized Best Practice terminology, structure, basic concepts and the fundamental principles of P3O.
The purpose of the Portfolio, Program and Project Office (P3O) methodology is to provide universal guidance that enables individuals and organizations to successfully establish, develop and maintain appropriate support structures that do the following:
- Helps managers at the executive level to make decisions on strategy, prioritization, risk management, optimization of resources, etc. to successfully achieve business objectives (portfolio management)
- Identifies and realizes business outcomes and benefits of programs
- Successfully deliver project outputs and enable time, cost and quality benefits and advantages.
It's a great course to give you PMO-focused insights. It's not about project management; program management or portfolio management (although of course it mentions them a few times!) It's about the structure of PMOs; the different types of PMOs; the functions and services they provide and how PMOs work in an organization.

There are no formal prerequisites to attend P3O® Foundation course and exam. To take part to the P3O Practitioner course, candidates must have P3O Foundation certification.

Exam details
The exam will be taken online, giving you the comfortable choice of writing the exam at home or the office. We require a computer with an internet connection for the exam and a webcam (ProctorU). The exam is included in this package. Very flexible!
Foundation exam format:
- Multiple choice
- 75 questions per paper
- 5 questions to be trial and not counted in scores
- 35 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) - 50%
- 60 minutes duration (25% extra time for candidates taking the exam in a language other than their native language)
- Closed book.
FAQ
When is the classroom schedule?
Depending on the starting dates, our classroom courses are consecutively held from 10 am - 6 pm (CET) with lunch breaks in between
Will missing a live class affect my ability to complete the course?
Yes, you may be subject to not getting the exam voucher if you don't attend a class. Therefore, it's better always to let us know at least 2 weeks in advance if you require any rescheduling requests.
*note that reschedule request is not always given depending on the situation
