The ACCA Foundation Level qualifications are more commonly known as the Foundations in Accountancy (FIA).  This suite of qualifications is ideal for those wanting to study accountancy with no prior qualifications, without embarking on the full ACCA qualification.

The ACCA exams are divided into two levels: Fundamentals (further broken down into Knowledge and Skills papers) and Professional.

The Fundamentals Level

Knowledge:

F1 - Accountant in Business

F2 - Management Accounting

F3 - Financial Accounting

If you have achieved accountancy qualifications including AAT Level 4, you may be exempt from the above three papers.

Skills:

F4 - Corporate and Business Law

F5 - Performance Management

F6 - Taxation

F7 - Financial Reporting

F8 - Audit and assurance

F9 - Financial Management

The Professional Level

The professional level is made up of five papers, three of which are essentials (i.e. compulsory) and two come from optional papers (you select two from four options).

Essential papers:

P1 - Governance, Risk and Ethics

P2 - Corporate Reporting

P3 - Business Analysis

Options (2 to be completed from 4):

P4 - Advanced Financial Management

P5 - Advanced Performance Management

P6 - Advanced Taxation

P7 - Advanced Audit and Assurance

There are a number of important dates to remember for ACCA students.  Please keep checking the ACCA website for changes and updates to the information below.

1 January - Your annual subscription fee is due

8 February - Exam results released by email and available for viewing on myACCA for December examinations

8 March - Early exam entry closing deadline for June exams (online applications only) - enter by this date and pay a reduced exam fee.

8 April - Standard exam entry closing deadline for June exams for online and paper applications

May - Your exam attendance docket will be available from myACCA for June exams, providing information regarding the exams you have entered for and the address of the exam centre.

8 May - Late exam entry deadline (online) for June exams

June - exams are held over an 8 day period in the first and second week of the month

8 August - Exam results released by email and available for viewing on myACCA for June examinations

8 September - Early exam entry closing deadline for December exams (online applications only) - enter by this date and pay a reduced exam fee.

8 October - Standard exam entry closing deadline for December exams for online and paper applications
