Our Access to HE courses can be studied within one academic year – up to 450 hours of classtime although some learners may be exempt from parts of the course if you already have GCSEs.How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed on the assignments which are set regularly throughout the course. Some of these assignments will be completed under exam conditions but most will be completed in your own time.What will I study?
You will study a range of modules, some of which are mandatory and some which are optional. These could be:- Communications
- Maths (Level 2)
- ICT
- Individual project in biology or psychology
- Human biology
- General biology
- Chemistry
- Equal opportunities
- Maths (Level 3)
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Social policy
What does the course lead to?
There are a range of nursing training courses available to progress onto including:- BSc (Hons) Nursing (choice of adult, child or mental health specialisms)
- Midwifery
Entry requirements
GCSE C grade or above is required in GCSE maths, English and science. Students will be accepted with two out of the three GCSEs. (GCSE equivalents cannot be accepted).How much does it cost?
The course fees include registration with CAVA (the awarding body). You may be eligible for remission of fees if you receive state benefits or if the Access course is your first Level 3 qualification.How do I apply?
