With climate change and environmental issues high on everyone's agenda, geography remains an important course of study.

You will be encouraged to look at the physical nature of the planet and the influence human activity has on it. Changes in population structures and increased urbanisation will also be covered in the human geography section, while coastal environments, watercourses and volcanic activity will be studied in physical geography.

How long is the course?

Both the AS and A2 take one year each.

What will I study?

You will be encouraged to look at the physical nature of the planet and the influence human activity has on it. Changes in population structures and the impacts of increased urbanisation and globalisation will also be covered in the human geography section, while extreme weather events, watercourses, tectonic activity and natural disasters will be studied in physical geography.

What does the course lead to?

Occupations in civil engineering, surveying, teaching, ecology and conservation are all potential career paths for A Level Geography students. Entry requirements

You must possess five GCSEs at grade C or above, which must include English, mathematics and a humanities subject from one of the following: history, geography, RE, humanities, sociology or ethics.
