The Driver CPC was created as a requirement of the EU Directive 2003\59, which is intended to increase the knowledge and skills of passenger carrying vehicles and large goods vehicles drivers throughout the duration of their career.The training will require attendance at a course but will not require drivers to take or pass further examinations.
Only approved courses taken with approved training centres will count towards the periodic training.

Vision West Notts is an approved centre and offer courses that meet the required subjects.
How long is the course?
All existing drivers will need to complete a minimum of 35 hours of training within every five year period.How will I be assessed?
The intended purpose of driver CPC is to increase the knowledge and skill base of professional drivers.It covers road freight safety issues and passenger transportation safety issues, as well as environmental issues.
Subjects include:
Drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and both analogue and digital tachographs
The roles of the professional driver including load security, and daily checks
Laws and effects for the driver
Service safety and awareness, which helps drivers understand customer service as well as road safety
Health and safety that effects the professional driver
What will I study?
The following modules are available.- May 5 - Module 4 Service Safety and Driver Awareness
- May 19 - Module 4 Service Safety and Driver Awareness
- June 9 - Module 5 Health and Safety for the Professional Driver
- June 23 - Module 5 Health and Safety for the Professional
Driver
- July 7 - Module 1 Drivers Hours Tachograph and WTD
- July 21 - Module 1 Drivers Hours Tachograph and WTD
- August 4 - Module 2 The Roll of the Professional Driver
- August 18 - Module 3 Law and Effects for the Professional Driver
All modules start at 8am.
Please note that all drivers must bring in both parts of
their driving licence. Anyone who is late or does not bring their
licence will not be allowed to sit the course.
The course will only run if there are at least 8 people
enrolled.
