What will I study?
Working in administration - The unit prepares learners to work in an office environment by introducing them to relevant legislation and health and safety procedures and the role and importance of the administrator in a business environment. The unit also enables learners to understand the importance of organising their work area.Written business communication - This unit aims to develop your skills and knowledge of written business communications in contexts that are relevant to workplace situations. You will be able to produce documents to an acceptable standard and demonstrate an understanding of a wide range of communication methods and their suitability for various purposes. The unit is also designed to develop your ability to extract relevant information from a range of sources and follow instructions accurately.
Career planning in administration - This unit aims to equip you with knowledge and understanding of administrative careers and help develop the skills needed to prepare and develop a personal career development plan and CV.
Handling diary systems - This unit aims to equip you with the ability to select, set up and effectively run a diary system.
Financial transactions - The aim of this unit is to enable you to administer a petty cash system and manage customer accounts.
Text processing level 2 - This unit aims to equip you with the ability to produce, from handwritten and typewritten draft materials, a range of business documents to a standard that meets the business document production requirements of employment.
Word processing level 2 - This unit aims to equip you with the ability to produce, from handwritten and recalled text, using a word processor, a variety of business documents to a standard that meets the requirements of employment.
Document presentation level 2 - This unit aims to equip candidates with the ability to produce, from handwritten draft and recalled text, using a word processor, a variety of specialist business documents to a standard that meets the requirements of empolyment. Candidates will use a range of complex word processing functions and learn to work accurately within time constraints.
Business presentation level 2 - This unit aims to equip the candidate with the ability to produce, from handwritten and typewritten drafts and from recalled material, a range of printed presentations, to a standard that meets the requirements of employment. The candidate is able to follow a design brief to produce a master slide and to manipulate software to incorporate a range of material and present it in different ways.
