Why study with us?The aim of this module is to facilitate the development of knowledge and skills necessary for the care of infants /families requiring high dependency care. There will be a particular emphasis on the skills of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the newborn requiring high dependency care.
What can this course lead to?Why stop here? You can transfer this module into a University Advanced Diploma in Care of the Newborn, which is a 60 credit award at level 6.
You can also transfer this module into one of our top-up degree programmes in Nursing Practice, Health care Practice or Primary Care Practice.

Course summaryThis module seeks to facilitate the development of skills in neonatal high dependency care. It will include review of neonatal asphyxia, recognition and management of neonatal emergencies, management of neonatal fluid balance. The module is primarily skills based. Significant learning will take place in the work place.
