Intended learning outcomes

On successful completion, you will be able to:

• Critically appraise the theoretical concepts relating to the pathophysiological processes occurring in the development and disease progression of Type 2 diabetes
• Systematically review the methods and influencing factors in making a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes
• Demonstrate, critically evaluate and adapt as appropriate to the context the care and management options in the care of clients with Type 2 diabetes including insulin management
• Critically appraise the potential complications of Type 2 diabetes, recommending appropriate evidence based therapeutic interventions
• Demonstrate a critical knowledge and understanding of evidence based health promotion interventions to clients and their carers in the management of Type 2 diabetes
