Course content
This AQA GCSE Mathematics course is a modular course. The modules for this course are:
- Module 1: Statistics and Number. One hour calculator exam (26.7%).
- Module 2: Number and Algebra. One hour 15 mins non-calculator exam (33.3%).
- Module 3: Geometry and Algebra. One hour 30 mins calculator exam (40%).

Both calculator skills and non-calculator skills are developed throughout the course. As a student in this course, you will experience new approaches to learning mathematics, including substantial e-learning opportunities. You will require a scientific calculator.
Teaching and assessment
Assessment will be by the written exams listed above under course content. There is no coursework component to this course.
Entry requirements
Entry is subject to a successful telephone interview. Before the course begins, you will undertake a diagnostic test so that we may determine your appropriate starting level.
Progression
GCSE Maths allows progression to many level 3 qualifications or above and is a requirement for many degree courses and careers.
