This course is suitable for learners that are working in a care environment. This can include children, people with physical or learning disabilities, elderly people or families. This may include people in their own homes, sheltered/supported accommodation, day centres or residential settings such as nursing homes. The advanced apprenticeship is aimed at those working in supervisory care roles such as senior care assistant, care co-ordinator or supervisor within the organisation.
The level 3 diploma will cover aspects such as communication, person centred care, safeguarding, personal development and health and safety etc.

Entry Requirements:
Interview required
You will be assessed for your potential to
achieve the apprenticeship. The assessment will depend upon the
level and range of activities you will be undertaking in the
workplace.
There are no academic entry requirements, however, you may need to
undergo an initial assessment of your English and maths skills in
which you are required to be working at or towards level 2.
Learners must be of a minimum age of 16, subject to funding and
statutory variations.
At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be
employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 16
hours per week. You also need to have been a resident in the EU for
at least 3 years.
Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the course.
Assessment:
The diploma and the level 3 certificate
are delivered in the workplace, using a portfolio of evidence,
observations, assignments, statements and question and answer
sessions. The assessor will visit you regularly to set work and
help you to complete the units required.
Functional skills will be delivered in localised training hubs,
please speak to your training advisor for further details.

Course Costs:
There are currently no fees payable by young people on Apprenticeship programmes. Fees may be payable by the employer where the candidate is 19 or older. Details available on request.
