The Understanding Epilepsy - Level 2 Course is designed for students who want to build on their understanding of what it means to have epilepsy and  for caring for this condition. The course will details information and ideas about how you can assist people in your care. The programme is suitable for staff working in hospitals, care homes, day centres, and in people's own homes.

The course includes the following units:

  • Unit 1 - An introduction to the brain
  • Unit 2 - Different epilepsy syndromes
  • Unit 3 - Causes of epilepsy
  • Unit 4 - Diagnosing epilepsy
  • Unit 5 - Treating epilepsy
  • Unit 6 - What to do when someone is having a seizure
  • Unit 7 - Managing epilepsy
