Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.
If you are studying at Level 1 or 2 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply). If you are studying at Level 3 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria AND are aged between 19 and 23, tuition fees will be waived. Tuition fees will not be waived for students aged over 23 studying a Level 3 or higher course, however these students may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.

industry in relevant disciplines whilst working in a supportive
environment.
The course is part of the Foundation Learning Programme, designed
for School leavers 16-19 year olds who wish to gain a hands-on
appreciation of Core Craft and associated fields of study
surrounding:
• Foundation Learning Skills
• Sustainable Building
• Social Issues
• Entrepreneurial Skills to increase and enhance your own
employability Skills
Students learn through a combination of practice workshops;
classroom sessions; individual guided learning and support; and
independent study. The emphasis is on the core and associated skill
requirements where competency will be assessed to occupational
standards and knowledge tested. The tutors provide ongoing
feedback. All learners will sit a final test to pass the course
either on-line or written dependant on awarding body requirements.
Entry Qualification: Qualification requirements are a minimum of
grades E in literacy and numeracy is required. Applicants should
show a keen interest in the construction industry and in particular
your own chosen area, along with listening skills and the ability
to attend punctually, and in accordance with attendance
requirements, as this is itself proof of life/employability skills
these two elements of the course will be reinforced. As
appropriate, learning support is available and all learners are
assured this facility will be made available. Progression:
Successful completion of the course could lead to further
vocational training and learning, all assisting you to progress
toward your required employability skills
