If you are studying at Level 1 or 2 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply). If you are studying at Level 3 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria AND are aged between 19 and 23, tuition fees will be waived. Tuition fees will not be waived for students aged over 23 studying a Level 3 or higher course, however these students may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.

Course Content: The course is a hands on approach to learning how
to use ICT. We will teach you how to effectively generate and
create various software applications to meet real end users
requirements. In support of how businesses use ICT we will be going
to London in November to meet guest Speakers from companies like
Tesco, Lotto and we will also meet representatives from the Police.
Your final topic in the AS Year will require you to research a
given point and then represent the information using a large
variety of programs. Should you wish to continue to A2 you will be
conducting a project management and designing graphics for a
website. Entry Qualification: 5 A – C grades at GCSE Level
Previously studied ICT at GCSE or have the equivalent
qualification
Course Format: As the course is entitled Applied you will be
consistently improving your skills by doing this. We will use a
variety of different methods i.e. Demonstration, Role Play, and
lectures to help you through your AS. Progression: On successful
completion of your A2 Applied ICT you will be able to progress to
University or enter into the industry with a solid grounding of
information communication technology and a large range of
packages.
You will be assessed every two weeks via formal assessment and will
receive feedback as to your progress. You will be given a two week
window to enable any reworking of tasks.
