Who is this course for?For either course, you need to be working within an agricultural environment. Level 2 Apprenticeships will suit you if you are working in roles such as Farm Worker, Tractor Driver, Stock Person, Pig Technician or Hatchery Staff.
What will I do on the course?
In both levels of Apprenticeship, you will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) topics, examples are provided below. You will follow the pathway and units that are most closely connected to your work. You may also complete appropriate NPTC machinery qualifications, such as tractor driving. Pathways available in:- Mixed farming

- Health and safety, Preparing sites ready for planting crops, Maintaining the healthy growth of crops, Establishing and maintaining animal welfare conditions, Maintaining site bio-security and personal hygiene, Preparing feed and water supplies for livestock, and; Monitoring and maintaining the supply of feed and water to livestock.
What qualifications do I need?
Level 2 – there are no formal however you should have a strong interest in working in the agricultural sector.When does the course start?
September 2013 but flexible delivery start dates are also available.Where is it held?
As with all Apprenticeship programmes, you will be employed in an agricultural environment and be visited regularly in the workplace by your trainer/assessor for practical assessments. In addition, you will also attend college on a day release basis – these sessions will take place at Rodbaston campus. Some learning and activities may be completed through our dedicated online portals.How long does the course last?
Level 2 - usual duration is 12 to 18 monthsWhat does it cost?
The course is fully funded for those individuals who meet the Apprenticeship funding requirements. For those who do not meet these requirements, individual prices can be provided on request.What could I do after completing the course?
Further Education:- Level 3 Apprenticeship.
- A range of livestock, crop or poultry farms.
