Who is this course for?

The course is very intense and will require a high level of commitment from you. We are looking for mature young people who have the desire to succeed in the IT sector.

What will I do on the course?

You will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) modules – the topics that you can expect to learn about include:
  • Installation and configuration of Windows XP and Vista
  • Network servers
  • Trouble shooting for office applications, and;
  • Fault diagnosis.
Alongside this work, you will also complete modules on Employment Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Functional Skills English, Mathematics and ICT.

What qualifications do I need?

You need a minimum of five A-C Grades, including Maths and English or Key Skills Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication. You must also have a very keen interest in IT Support and be seeking a career in this field.

When does the course start?

This course has three intakes each year - January, April & September

Where is it held?

As with all Apprenticeship programmes, you will be employed in an IT environment. You will attend training sessions at our Tamworth Campus, every other week for the first year of your programme (e.g. college week, employment week, college week). The remainder of your time will be with your employer obtaining valuable 'on the job' support. Some learning and activities may be completed through our dedicated online portals.

How long does the course last?

18 months is the usual duration for this course.

What does it cost?

The course is fully funded for those individuals who meet the Apprenticeship funding requirements. For those who do not meet these requirements, individual prices can be provided on request.
