Plumbing Diploma Level 1

Who is this course for?

This one year full-time course is designed to provide a range of skills which will enable you to gain a basic understanding of a range of building services, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical. It will give you with an introduction to building services and will provide a good foundation for learners wishing to progress to apprenticeships or a Level 2 course in Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Heating & Ventilating or Electrical Installation.

What will I do on the course?

This course provides a good foundation if you are wishing to pursue a career in Building Services. Through a mix of practical and theoretical activities you will develop your skills in plumbing, air conditioning, heating and ventilation, and electrical. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you will also develop the skills that are required to progress in to a career in Building Services. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Math's

What qualifications do I need?

• 3 GCSEs Grade E or above
• You should have a strong interest in working in the building sector and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Further Education:

• Level 2 course in plumbing, electrical installation, heating and ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration

Are there any additional costs?

Learners may be required to purchase minor items of personal equipment during the course. In addition there may be extra-curricular trips which have an additional cost, but these are not compulsory for completion of the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
