Who is this course for?This is a good course for you if you want to gain an in-depth knowledge of equine management. This course will also suit you if you have worked in the equine industry for a number of years and wish to gain a recognised qualification.
What will I do on the course?
A typical working week will comprise of a variety of classroom sessions and a number of practical classes where advanced horse management skills can be developed. There will also be time to meet with your tutor and work on improving your Maths and English. A typical working week will comprise of a variety of classroom sessions and a number of practical classes where advanced horse management skills can be developed. There will also be time to meet with your tutor and work on improving your Maths and English. You will study a wide range of subjects including equine science, improving your riding, and the ability to assess a horse, horse nutrition, health and husbandry and the theory of equitation. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits. What could I do after completing the course?Higher Education:

What qualifications do I need?
- 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English or Maths, OR
- 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C excluding English or Maths, OR
- Level 2 qualification in a related subject
- Adequate standard of English and Maths
- Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
- You should have a strong interest in working with horses and demonstrate a suitable riding ability.

Learners may be required to purchase their own personal equipment during the course, this will include appropriate yard clothing and equipment (hard hat, boots etc.). There may also be additional costs for trips and visits, but these are not essential for completion of the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview.
