What will I do on the course?
You will learn about the different disciplines that constitute art and design with hands on experience of a range of techniques and processes relating to these different areas. You will be able to explore the creative process through the research and analysis of ideas and information, by experimentation with materials and techniques and through the development and realization of creative ideas. You will receive continuous feedback and participate in individual and group tutorials. You will be able to evaluate your own and the work of others and be able to develop and present a unique and personalised body of your own work. The course is organised into three progressive stages: STAGE 1 provides a broad introduction to the different disciplines that make up art and design. These are:- Printmaking
- Painting
- Photography
- 3D Design
- Sculpture
- Textiles/Fashion
- Graphic Design
- Contextual Studies
- Visual Studies
What qualifications do I need?
- 2 A Levels
- Extended Diploma in Art and Design
- A portfolio of work, as all students will be interviewed and offered a place based on this work
- For mature students (over 21) formal qualifications may be waived if they can demonstrate an aptitude for the subject
