The course is designed for students who want to become a solicitor and its weekend workshop sessions allow you to fit study around other commitments. Whether you aspire to work in a high street firm or a major city firm, the NCLT LPC provides you with the skills and knowledge to prepare you fully for practice.
We understand the challenges students face while studying the LPC. That's why we offer unprecedented support through our facilities and tutor team. Our workshops are carefully designed with enhanced feedback to build your confidence and help you develop the skills you need to become a successful solicitor. These will be backed up with a well designed e-learning programme which can fit in with your work commitments.
The NCLT LPC offers you
Excellence
Offering affordable fees does not mean we compromise on quality. We have a reputation for excellence within the legal profession and for delivering courses of the very highest quality. You will receive a UWE qualification that has been continuously graded the highest grading of excellent by the regulator, and the course is taught by experienced UWE tutors who are all practitioners.
Affordability
Course fees are just £7,900 for 2012 (discounted rate of £7,200 for Southampton Solent students). The 2013 fees have not been released yet but will be set at a similar if not the same level as 2012. Interest free flexible payments are available which can be paid by ten manageable installments a year with a low deposit of £200 to secure your place on the course. (Please note, payment plans are not guaranteed, so we recommend you apply early to secure the payment plan of your choice.)
Weekend tuition
For the part time course there are 11 face-to-face study weekends per year supported by e-learning and you can study on a Saturday and Sunday with minimum disruption to your other commitments.
The full time course workshops take place on a Friday and Saturday. The 'Blackboard' online workshops and tuition allow you to study at a time to suit you.
Careers support
We provide careers support on a number of levels and throughout your course one principle applies: the support is personal, tailored to your specific career requirements.
From when you accept a place on the course you will be appointed a supervising principal who will be on hand to offer you personal careers support. There are specific legal careers events and presentations built into your timetable and an array of online resources to assist you with the preparation of CVs, application forms, covering letters and interview skills.

Course content
Our aim is to make you ready for that first day in practice and by the time you get to your firm we will have made sure that you know your stuff. You will not just learn about law and procedure, but crucially the skills required to get on in practice.
You will study a range of compulsory areas and you will also be assessed on your written and oral skills. Approximately 70% of your time will be spent studying core practice areas such as Business Law and Practice and Skills such as Advocacy. The other 30% of your time on the course will be spent studying three from a broad choice of elective subjects.

How to apply
The closing date: Most students applying for the LPC
apply and accept their place in the autumn term. For NCLT, the
final closing date before clearing is 1 August 2013, although we
strongly recommend you apply before then to secure a place at your
first choice of study centre. If you apply after the 1 August you
will be entered into a clearing process and notified no earlier
than 5 days before the course commences if you will be offered a
place.
How to apply – 3 easy steps
Step 1 – For the Full time LPC, apply online through the
Central Applications Board (CAB) NCLT study centres are listed
under UWE/NCLT. For the part time LPC apply directly to NCLT by
downloading an application form from the NCLT website.
Step 2 – Send us one academic or employer reference (this
can be sent to us at a later date to your application).
Step 3 – You will hopefully receive an offer of a place
within two weeks. To accept your place, sign a copy of the offer
and return with your deposit of £200 within 2 weeks to NCLT, Wrens
Court 52-54 Victoria Road, Sutton Coldfield B72
1SX.

Course content
