This highly creative course allows you to focus on fashion while developing skills that will prepare you to work in a variety of roles, such as photographer, fashion stylist or art director.

Guest speakers regularly share their own experiences of working in fashion and give advice on how to succeed in the industry. Recent speakers have included:

In your final year, we’ll encourage you to build a portfolio, find work experience, promote your skills and work on live industry projects. Recent projects have involved Topman, Terry Mansfield, D&AD and IKEA, and recent work placements have included Vivienne Westwood, Dazed & Confused, ASOS and Rankin.

Year 1
Four core units:
- Photo Techniques and Digital Design
- Creative Fashion Development
- Design in Context
- Styling Practice.
Year 2
Six core units
- Fashion Performance Photography
- Fashion in Context
- Visual Communication
- Fashion Photo Narrative
- Design Image Context
- Advanced Digital Design.
Year 3
Two core units and two option units:
- Major Project: Research and Proposal
- Fashion Photography Major Project.

Assessment
Students receive regular feedback in seminar sessions and small group tutorials. Practical skills and creative thinking are assessed through the submission of design projects, sketchbook research and written assignments.
During the final year, students write a dissertation and produce a self-directed final major project, allowing them to explore their interests, strengths and career aims.
 
Projects/work experience
Past work experience placements have included a variety of PR, styling, photography and design roles at organisations such as Show Studio, Seventh Man magazine and Net-a-Porter. A formal fashion industry work-based learning option is a popular choice in the final year.
