Introduction to Health, Care and Childcare Level 1 Award

This new course has been developed to introduce individuals to the Care sector whether you want to work with children in pre-schools or elderly in care homes.

The topics covered give you an insight into what goes on in a variety of settings. You will have the opportunity to discuss with others your prior experience and career aims.

If you have been unemployed or are changing from another area you will also develop your interview and confidence skills.

This three week course is an introduction to the sector for those considering a change of career or just starting out and unsure if this for them.

You will gain a basic knowledge of the sorts of roles you may be able to work in within the health, care and childcare sectors. If you have been unemployed or are changing from another area you will also develop your interview and confidence skills.

You will need to apply and attend an interview. This is a flexible start course - ask about the next start date at your interview.

Once you have completed the course, you can then progress on into Level 2 courses, gain work experience or move into a traineeship or apprenticeship.
