For those aspiring to become professional engineers, supervisors or managers, the BTEC diploma in Engineering has been developed to give full-time learners the opportunity to enter employment in the mechanical/ electrical engineering sector or progress to higher education.
You will study the different sectors in engineering and their underlying processes systems and structures. You will work on your English, maths and ICT, and develop a range of skills and techniques including personal skills and attributes to help you progress successfully.

For those aspiring to become professional engineers, supervisors or managers, the BTEC diploma in Engineering has been developed to give full-time learners the opportunity to enter employment in the mechanical/ electrical engineering sector or progress to higher education.
You will study the different sectors in engineering and their underlying processes systems and structures. You will work on your English, maths and ICT, and develop a range of skills and techniques including personal skills and attributes to help you progress successfully.
You will explore the scientific principles of engineering and develop the analytical and problem solving skills that are needed within an engineering environment. Initially you will study for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma. Successful students will be invited to study for the extended diploma which they will complete in year two of the course.
Five GCSE at grade A*- C including English Language, maths and science, a higher diploma at grade C or above or Merit grade in a BTEC Level 2 diploma with functional skills at Level 2. You will be interviewed and must demonstrate self-motivation.
This course will help you explore and assess the wide range of careers available for those with engineering skills. You can progress directly into degree level studies in engineering or related subjects.
