NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management for
holders of the General Certificate Level 3 Course Details The
NEBOSH National Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate
provides an appropriate breadth of underpinning knowledge for

to workplace fire safety. The course is designed to enable holders
of the National General Certificate who have passed the
qualification in the last five years to complete the NEBOSH Fire
Safety and Risk Management Certificate. The course therefore
contains the additional units that are required to enable the
student to complete the NEBOSH National Fire Safety and Risk
Management Certificate. The syllabus is divided into 2 Units and 6
elements in total: Unit FC 1 Fire Safety and Risk Management.
Unit FC2 Practical Fire Risk Assessment. Unit FC1 Element Title:
Managing fire safety. Principles of fire and explosion. Causes and
prevention of fire. Fire protection in buildings. Safety of people
in the event of a fire. Fire risk assessment. A Course for
Managers, supervisors, employee representatives and others it aims
to equip holders to contribute to the conduct and review of fire
risk assessments and fire preventive and protective measures within
most workplaces. Entry Requirements There are no barriers to entry
to a NEBOSH National Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate
programme but it should be noted that the assessment includes a
requirement to write a short report. Assessment Each unit of the
NEBOSH National Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate is
assessed separately. FC1 is assessed by a written examination. Unit
FC2 is assessed by a practical fire risk assessment of a workplace.
Candidates must achieve a pass standard in each unit to be awarded
the NEBOSH National Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate.
