& Guilds Course Details The Level 2 Diploma in Health &
Social Care covers the skills and knowledge needed to care for
others in a wide range of health or social care settings. It is
flexible to suit all fields of health and social care. You can
chose a pathway that suits your role– for example, working with
people with a learning disability, people with dementia or a more
generic pathway. This is the main qualification required by the
Quality Care Commission in England and the Care councils in Wales
and Northern Ireland. This is a recognised qualification for care
workers in the health and social care field. The Level 2 Diploma in
Health & Social Care requires students to achieve a minimum
number of 46 credits. These credits will be accumulated by
undertaking mandatory and chosen optional units from different
Health & Social Care pathways. A Course for Students who
currently work in Health & Social Care settings and whom have
completed their initial induction training. Entry Requirements
Students need to be currently employed in a Health or Social Care
service and have completed induction training. Students must have
the agreement of their workplace manager and be working a minimum
of 16 hours per week. Assessment Students will be appointed an
assessor who will assess in the workplace using a range of
assessment methods; including reflection, observation and knowledge
work that will cover workplace performance and best practice
outcomes. In addition students will attend college 3 hours per week
for theory sessions. Learning Outcome Diploma in Health and Social
Care (Adults) Level 2.
