general core units, occupation specific units, a synoptic practical
assignment, online testing of knowledge and key skills in
Application of Number and Communications. The core and occupation
units of competence: Know and carry out safe working practices in
construction. Knowledge of information, quantities and
communicating with others. Building methods and construction
technology. Interpret working drawings and set out masonry
structures. Knowledge/apply thin joint masonry and masonry

at grades D-E or above or Brickwork Diploma Level 1. If you have
taken CDT at Secondary School you will already have some knowledge
of this occupational area, or if you have attended the College on a
craft link course with your school you will be ideally placed to
follow this course. Assessment Units of competence and practical
skills evidence will be simulated within the college or work
placement area. There is an on-line end test in Brickwork. Learning
Outcome This qualification is underpinning knowledge for NVQ Trowel
Occupations Level 2 (off the job) with units leading towards full
