Barbering NVQ Diploma Level 2 Course Details The Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is a specialist qualification which allows students to vastly develop their barbering skills. The Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is an internationally recognised qualification that is essential for a career in hairdressing. The course may include 9.00am starts and a late night. Students undertake the followingmandatory units: Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp Advise and consult with clients Cut hair using basic barbering techniques Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques Dry and finish men’s hair Health & safety. Andoptional units from the following list: Perm hair to create a variety of looks Make and style a hair addition Change men’s hair colour Promote products and services to clients in a salon Display stock to promote sales in a salon Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work Fulfil salon reception duties Create basic patterns Give clients a positive impression of yourself and organisation. Entry Requirements Under 19: Four GCSEs at grades D-E or above, or Introduction to the Hair & Beauty Sector Level 1. Over 19: There are no formal entry requirements. However, a formal interview is required before acceptance. Assessment Assessment is continuous throughout the programme and in the work place. Students will also be expected to work on assignments and a portfolio of evidence will be produced to show attainment throughout the course. There will be some internal end tests on specific units.
