BA(Hons) Business Management (Fast Track)

With the global business environment changing at a rapid pace, QMU has developed an innovative new programme structure which allows students to complete an Honours degree in three years (instead of the customary four years). Business Management concerns the study or organisations; how organisations are structured and managed; how strategy is formulated and implemented; how resources are allocated and controlled to achieve maximum efficiency and how people are motivated to achieve optimum performance.

This three-year fast-track degree programme aims to give you all the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve a rewarding career across a wide range of business sectors and organisations. Through a range of innovative teaching approaches, students can access cutting-edge research and practice to meet contemporary business and management challenges facing organisations internationally and globally.

The course is structured around the two key areas of management and personal skills. These areas are developed through a variety of teaching and learning methods, including field trips, visiting speakers from the business world, role plays and work experience. The course content has been designed in response to the needs of business and to help further your career.

On this course, you will develop a range of key core business skills, such as marketing, human resource management, strategy, finance and information technology. You will also acquire a range of transferrable skills such as presentation techniques, research skills, interpersonal communication skills and knowledge of various IT packages.

Students on the three-year Business Management Honours degree programme take four modules per semester. Students will also participate in academic development sessions every semester, which are designed to give students the opportunity to develop interpersonal and research skills.
Structure:Students will have a dedicated intensive academic development programme, dedicated student handbook, personal academic tutor as well as encouraged to attend special events for the cohort each semester

The programme will adhere to the standard academic calendar with students on the programme attending dedicated tutorials.

• There is a great opportunity to gain practical work experience through placement, setting up your own small business, volunteering and self-development

Placement: In year two, students will have the opportunity to gain 150 hours work experience across public, private or voluntary sectors.
Professional Registration: The opportunity exists in Year Three to acquire a Chartered Institute of Management qualification as part of the Management Insight and Consultancy module.
