Who the course is aimed at:
Managers and office professionals who want to gain an understanding of the main areas of business finance in order to improve their knowledge in meetings and decision making.
Course content:
Day 1
- Look at the users of accounting information
- Understanding what is contained in the financial statements -Profit and loss account, balance sheet and cash flow statement
- Understanding working capital and the importance of it in a business
- Capital expenditure vs. operating expenditure
- Work through different depreciation calculations
- The rules of producing accounts
Day 2
- Evaluating real business performance through ratios
- Understanding different costing methods
- Review the budgeting process
- Look at the hints and tips for better budgeting management including variances
- Understand when to reforecast
- Conduct break-even calculations
Training Method:
Participative, lively and draws on the presenter's practical experience in businesses of all sizes/sectors. Delegates are encouraged to use their own experiences to keep the session relevant to their real needs.
