The Programme
This course is designed for project managers, site managers,
supervisors, proprietors of small to medium sized companies and
potential site managers, to develop knowledge, awareness and
understanding of their legal responsibilities in respect of health,
safety and welfare on construction sites.
This qualification is listed in the Approved Code of Practice for
the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations as a
demonstration of competence in the role of site manager.
Aims and objectives of the course:
The course aims to give an understanding of delegates'
responsibilities and accountability for site safety, health and
welfare and current health and safety legislation.
The SMSTS scheme helps site managers and supervisors to:
■Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current
provisions and within the context of their management or
supervisory role.
■Develop an understanding of responsibilities and accountability
for site health
Suitable for students aged 16 and over. Please ring to enquire about any exceptions.
