They may also have the opportunity to paint and construct sets and props where appropriate. In some cases, they also light and provide sound and music for the shows.
The Programme Content
The course is split into seven units or modules; the modules all relate to performing arts. Students will study areas that include or relate to movement, use of voice, rehearsal and performance, devising or performing from play texts, culminating in a final major public performance that will be organised and promoted by the students themselves. The main aim of the programme is to introduce students to theatre productions and to learn how to prepare for professional performance. Students rehearse, perform, administrate and organise their own productions under staff guidance in our purpose built studio. They may also have the opportunity to paint and construct sets and props where appropriate and in some cases, light and provide sound and music for the shows.
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade E or above.
Costs
Material fees of £90 (or £30 per term) are required to provide costumes, sets, lights and theatres for assessed productions. You will be expected to provide normal learning materials such as stationery*.

Progression
The Level 2 Diploma is designed for progression to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (a two year course) dependent on achieving a minimum of a Merit grade overall. From there, students have progressed to higher education at Petroc or establishments such as E15 and Central School of Speech and Drama.
