transferable skills that facilitate the realisation of musical
ideas in both audio and MIDI environments. Learners will develop
the skills to set up, use and discuss sequencing systems and
techniques.

Sequencing Systems and Techniques - the aim of this unit is to
develop learners' knowledge of music sequencing software and the

ideas in both audio and MIDI environments. Learners will develop
the skills to set up, use and discuss sequencing systems and
techniques. The BTEC courses in music and music technology aim to
provide a broad educational base for further training, further
education and employment within the music sector. The qualification
will develop learners' abilities through the knowledge and skills
gained in different parts of the programme.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above; we recommended that these include GCSE Music and Maths.

Studio fees of £30. You will need to provide your own good quality headphones and a memory stick to save your work to*.

Progression
In the past, students studying music technology subjects have progressed to higher education at establishments such as Bath, Salford, TVU, Leeds and Cardiff. Now that we have foundation degrees at Petroc you can continue studying to a higher level without the stress and financial hassle of leaving home. Some students in the past have gone straight into the profession (local or national companies, or starting their own business). Most students on the course regularly read professional magazines (eg Sound on Sound) and apply are advertised.
