The Programme

Students will identify the main causes of legionella and learn how to minimise the risk by various methods. On successful completion of this certificated course installers will be able to undertake risk assessments and carry out disinfection using a range of methods including bleached, chlorine and silver hydrogen peroxide for best water treatment practice for legionella bacteria prevention.

Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment

The Programme

On successful completion of this certificated course installers will be able to undertake risk assessments and carry out disinfection using a range of methods including bleached, chlorine and silver hydrogen peroxide for best water treatment practice for legionella bacteria prevention.

Under L8 (Health and Safety Executive guidance document) certain people e.g. landlords and hotel owners, have a legal obligation to ensure they have adequate methods in place to prevent Legionella within their hot and cold water systems.

Petroc is accredited to deliver two courses from Logic Certification. The Installer course is aimed at installers of hot and cold water systems and will enable them to undertake risk assessments and carry out best water treatment practice for Legionella bacteria prevention.

The Responsible Persons course is for those who have a responsibility for people within dwellings and premises. This course concentrates on the duties and gives more details on risk assessment procedures.
