are developmental psychology; sociology and research; inclusive
provision and practice; social policy and welfare and interpersonal
skills in multi-professional teams.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English
Language and Mathematics plus one of the following equivalent
qualifications:
A Levels (80-100 UCAS points) or equivalent vocational
qualification, substantial work experience in any early years
setting, or recent academic study at Level 3.
Costs
Optional visits that are linked to various modules will be offered at approximately £10 per visit. Students are encouraged to buy at least one core book per module in addition to stationery, USB memory sticks, files and photocopying will be needed. All students will require an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau clearance which costs approx £44.

Dates
Part time programmes are run in the afternoon/evenings on days
decided each year.
Full time programmes are offered two days each week and the days
differ for each cohort.
Progression
Employability is a key feature of all Foundation Degrees. The Childcare Workforce Development Council requires graduate employees in all full day care settings from 2015. Other employment opportunities are in Children's Centres and a range of multi-professional teams. The transferable skills gained through the activities and study programme will enable you to apply for employment in a wider range of sectors; planning and managing projects and working in teams are some of these skills. On successfully completion of the Foundation Degree students have the option to apply to progress to the final year of the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies degree at Plymouth University or Somerset College. Please note there is a progression application deadline and places may be subject to availability.
