OpenVMS System Management I

Prerequisites:

Course Description:

This course presents the system manager who is new to OpenVMS or OpenVMS system management with the core information and essential skills needed to examine the system, the hardware and software configuration and the existing administrative setup. Students will learn to manage the system environment, networking, memory, and back-ups. This course supports OpenVMS versions through 8.2.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

• Describe and use OpenVMS commands to display information about the following key OpenVMS concepts: hardware/software environment, processes, memory management, logical name translation, and the system disk structure
• Manage public and private volumes on OpenVMS
• Manage user accounts
• Get the network up and running
• Manage batch and print queues
