Course Content
This qualification consists of four mandatory units:
- The Hospitality Industry
- Principles of Supervising Customer Service Performance in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism
- Providing Customer Service in Hospitality
- Financial Control in Hospitality
Optional units are also offered to complete the full qualification. If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade C or above in Maths and/or English you will be required to complete the relevant Essential Skills qualification. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable.

Course Aims
Over the past few years, employment in the hospitality industry has increased faster than for the economy overall. But there remain significant skills gaps, particularly in the following areas: customer service; interpersonal skills; supervisory skills; finance; and employability skills. These BTEC Nationals seek to address these areas by encouraging the development of these skills.
Special Features
In addition to classroom teaching there will be visits to local facilities and events. Students will receive talks from guest speakers and industry experts and there may be opportunities for students to take part in work placements.

Continuous assessment through assignments, projects and practical activities.
