The emphasis is on applying knowledge, skills and techniques to analyse the instruments, participants and markets in international finance. You will be able to specialise in an area that particularly interests you, while the applied project enables you to apply knowledge and analytical skills to make recommendations to the senior managers of a real organisation on a finance-related issue.

Course content
This course, like others within the postgraduate platform suite of MSc programmes at Nottingham Business School (NBS), begins with a comprehensive development programme, which includes a residential course in the beautiful English Peak District. This part of the programme helps you to prepare for your studies and develop key academic and transferable skills..
During the year you will cover a wide-range of theory and practice through a number of core modules. This is further enhanced by a selection of optional modules which will allow you to focus on a specific area. The year will culminate with a group consultancy project, for which you will respond to a live client brief that has been commissioned by an employer in partnership with Nottingham Business School.

Study and support
Modules are taught in four phases, over 12 months. Beyond the initial induction, independent study weeks for preparation and submission of final module assessments follow the weeks of class contact.
Teaching and learning methods are centred around interactive workshops which are highly participative in nature and will employ case studies, discussions, business simulations and group activities.
Assessment
A variety of assessment methods
are used including: extensive written reports, essays, individual
and group projects and presentations.
