NVQ 1 in Beauty Therapy

Is this course for me?

This course is designed for anyone interested in a career in beauty therapy and just starting out on your career. For the first 17 weeks of this course you will introduced to the beauty therapy industry. Upon successful completion of this level 1 course you will progress onto specialise in manicure and pedicure to achieve the level 2 certificate.

What qualifications or skills do I require to study this course?

A good School Report, Succesful Interview. Enjoy working with people and as part of a team. Positive attitude. Ability to meet deadlines and good organisational skills.3 GCSE Grade C or above including English. An interest in the subject and a successful interview. Note: The Mature Learners course is for learners age 19 +

What does the course involve?

Learners will study health and safety, reception duties, assisiting with facial and nail treatments,preparing and maintaining the Beauty Therapy work area, Anatomy and Physiology and Functional Skills. The course combines hands on practical work with assignments and external exams for Functional Skills.

What option will be open to me if I successfully complete the course? NVQ Level 2. Employment as a Beauty Therapy Assistant, Skincare Consultant or Beauty Receptionist.
