Course Summary:

Our 'Skills for Life' English language courses, both full-time and part-time, are designed for adult students whose first language is not English. They can help you to prepare for everyday life, employment, and vocational or higher education courses.

The learning programme builds your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, and it also broadens your knowledge and understanding of life in Britain.

All of our courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

You will join one of five learning levels, Beginners to Advanced. Many students change level mid-year.

Part-time courses

It is recommended that students receive five hours tuition per week and attend college for two mornings or two evenings per week.

Two mornings (various) 9.30am - 12.30pm

Two evenings (Tuesday and Thursday) 6.15pm - 9.15pm

The courses are organised in terms (30 weeks in total):

Term 1 - 13th - 17th December 2010

Term 2 - 10th January - 8th April 2011

Term 3 - 26th April - 1st July 2011

Full-Time course

A full-time course givesyou fifteen hours tuition per week. You will attend collegeevery weekday morning 9.30 - 12.30.
