Description
Students develop the core language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking English, plus a range of options at their level. These skills are acquired, developed and practised through classroom tuition, pair and group activity, project work and through the virtual learning environment (VLE). Full-Time ESOL course is offered at 2 levels only : Intermediate 1 (Pre-Intermediate); Intermediate 2 (Intermediate).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All applicants should be literate in their first language. Prior to commencement of the course, all applicants are assessed and placed in classes according to their level of English.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?
Students undertake a group of SQA ESOL Units at each level: Everyday Communication, Transactional Contexts and English for Work and Study as well as an externally assessed Cambridge ESOL examination at the appropriate level.
PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Students successfully completing this course may progress to other courses in Aberdeen College, at university or into employment. Alternatively, students may continue to study English at the next level in a part-time ESOL course.
