AS/A2 Applied Business (Double Award) - level 3

Is it for me?

This is a 2 year course equivalent to 2 A Levels. The course suits those who enjoy the subject enough to become predominantly business students and enjoy working as part of a team. Assessment is mainly coursework based.

Understand how promotional tools can be used to help achieve the objectives for an organisation.

Business Development

Consider, construct and produce a business plan for a small business.

Managing and Developing People

Examine the management, training, development and motivation of individuals within an organisation.

Marketing Decisions

Learn about the type of decisions that have to be made to bring a product to market.

Impact of Finance on Business Decisions

Learn how to analyse, evaluate and use financial information.

Organising an Event

Plan, manage and administer to completion, a one-off event, concentrating on the practical knowledge, understanding and skills this needs in the business world.

External Influences on Business

Learn about how these affect a business and how the business has reacted to them.

Entry Requirements:

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* to C, with a grade C or above preferred in English Language and Maths.

Progression:

Students who have gained a double award in Applied Business have gone on to study Business at degree level and a variety of business related subjects such as Marketing, Accounting and Consumer Behaviour.
