This course consists of the following:

  • Describe the structure of e-mail messages
  • Describe routine problems with e-mail (including difficulties with attachments, mail from unknown or misrepresented users and inappropriate content) and where and when to seek advice
  • Identify common types of malicious software which can affect the use of e-mail (including viruses, spyware and key loggers) and how to keep risks to a minimum
  • Identify the general conventions (‘netiquette’), laws and guidelines that affect the use of e-mail
  • Use basic software commands to send and receive e-mails
  • Manage e-mails using basic facilities for deleting, finding e-mails and saving attachments to appropriate places
