ESOL contributes to the government's Skills for Life initiative by providing assessment for those learners seeking to:
- Enhance their knowledge of English.
- Develop their interpersonal communication skills in a British community.
- Improve their understanding of life in the UK.
- Progress towards and achieve the language criteria for naturalisation/ UK citizenship.
- Progress towards and achieve personal and economic independence.
- Take part in day to day social and cultural activities using the English language.

Individual Learning Plan, learn what areas of English they need to
focus on and make preparations for future English studies.
Assessment: Initial assessment, diagnostic assessment and internal
end of course exam.
Entry Criteria: No formal entry criteria.
