Learn the English you need to help you settle into life and work in the UK.
If you want to improve your speaking and listening, this is the right course for you. You will practise all skills, including grammar and vocabulary, and work towards a UK English language qualification.
You learn basic skills to help you in your everyday life and work. The skills help you with:
• listening to television/radio, instructions, telephone calls
• speaking in various functional situations, e.g. in shops, at the doctor’s, at school, at work

right course for you. You will practise all skills, including
grammar and vocabulary, and work towards a UK English language
qualification.
You learn basic skills to help you in your everyday life and
work. The skills help you with:
• listening to television/radio, instructions, telephone calls
• speaking in various functional situations, e.g. in shops, at the
doctor’s, at school, at work
You work individually, in pairs and in groups, in class, and use a
variety of resources. You practise grammar, vocabulary, speaking
and listening skills in various activities so you can improve and
pass the exams.
You take ESOL exams at the end of term that test your speaking and
listening.
You achieve ESOL Skills for Life certificate in speaking and
listening at an appropriate level.
The ESOL Skills for Life qualification at Entry 3 level is
acceptable to the Home Office for settlement/naturalisation
purposes. It is an Ofqual-regulated ESOL qualification.
You need to have an initial assessment and an interview to see if the course is the right one. You need to attend the whole course and sit the exams.
You can progress to the next level English courses to continue
to improve your language.

step, whether you would like to study another course in the college
or are looking for work.
