Course Aim & Objective:
In this course you will examine the early development of one of the world's oldest civilizations – Egypt. We will begin with the formative period leading up to the unification of upper and lower Egypt and look in depth at the Old Kingdom. Our study will be by themes including social organisations, belief systems, settlement patterns, literature and exchange networks. The reasons for the birth of civilization on the Nile will be examined in depth.
