Course Aim & Objective: 

Introduction to the different strokes of the game, learn to score and enjoy playing the game whilst keeping fit.  Improve strokes towards consistency in full length rally, using the whole length of the court, whilst using different spins.  Apply basic tactics.  Improve fitness through physical activity.

Gain a sound foundation of basic skills, tactical knowledge and understanding of scoring.

Assessment: 

Continuous assessment by the tutor throughout the course.  You are assessed individually at your own pace.  Feedback during classes.  You are encouraged to practice as much as you can.

Course Syllabus: 

Every session starts with a thorough warm-up and game to finish off.  Each week different skills are introduced:  Grip and ready position forehand; Revision of forehand and back hand; Revision of ground strokes, volleys and drills; Lob and overhead; Serve – single play; Serve and volley; Doubles tactics; Different shots and tactics, either on defence or offence; special requests.  Learn to use the whole court whilst on singles and doubles.
