Spanish as level

You must have reached GCSE or equivalent.  You will learn to speak and write competently in Spanish and discuss topics of interest.  You will also increase your knowledge of Spain.

Examination costs are included in the published course fees.

Learner & Entry Requirements: 

Although a GCSE qualification would be desirable, it is not compulsory before enrolling on this course and taking the AS exams, provided that the learner has the knowledge of, or experience of, using the language as a result of practicing, or living in a Spanish-speaking country.

Course Aim & Objective:

• To help learners to develop communicative skills in Spanish when in a Spanish-speaking setting;
• To introduce learners to a variety of topics in Spanish through more advanced vocabulary, grammar structure, moods and tenses in order to deal with real situations proficiently.  Being able to manage Spanish well;
• To prepare learners to take the exams in order to achieve a qualification, language development and cultural awareness;
• Learners to understand, and be understood, when using advanced moods, tenses and vocabulary about different topics;
• Learners to interact with other Spanish-speakers using good quality language and being able to talk reasonably well on a wide variety of issues;
• Learners to describe people, places and things in Spanish;
• Learners to use the different skills that improve their knowledge, and gain confidence when speaking Spanish.

Assessment: 

The EDEXCEL Board assesses the learners at the end of the academic year.  The tutor carries out assessments, however, that allow measurement of the learners' progress and achievement.  Past exam papers give the appropriate approach to the final grades.
